Joining Northampton Saints from San Fransisco in 2010, Manoa became the signing of the season with a series of notable performances, and signed a new three-year contract extension six months into his stay. He ended the season in the ESPN Premiership Dream Team.
In his second season with the Saints, Samu picked up the Players’ Player of the Season, Supporters’ Player of the Season and Player of the Season and appeared for the Barbarians against the British and Irish Lions in Hong Kong.
in 2013/14, Samu and the Saints became Premiership and European Challenge Cup Champions, in a season that saw his contribute 9 tries to the team; as well as being voted Northampton Saints Player of the Season for the 2nd year in succession.
Samu appeared for the USA Eagles in the RWC 2015, being named captain for the 1st time against Japan; and joined up with European Champions Rugby Club Toulonnais ahead of the 2015/16 season.
After 3 seasons in the South of France, Samu returned to the UK to sign with Cardiff Blues ahead of the 2018/19 season.
